When I began to read this book, I was mired down in the extremely violent sadism of the project director. But soon the story expanded to enlightening paradigms of thought that would stretch anyone's perceptions of our world. Mark's illustrations of the unusual thought forms he presents are very down-to-earth and a very interesting story. This is one of those books that is quite difficult to put down. I couldn't put this book down. It is sci-fi at its best. Totally understandable, while still taking your mind on a journey of life and how it could have been created. This story activates the imagination with sci fi, romance, and a thriller all wrapped up in one. This book would make an amazing movie!
This book was amazing. I really enjoyed it, it was brilliantly done and masterfully put together. Mark Canter has a perfectly measured cup of science, a wonderful dash of romance, and awesomely placed adventure. I bought this book on the premise that it was in the Romance and Sci-fi genre category. I was especially intrigued by a male portrayal of the romance genre, with the male dominated mix of the sci-fi genre. The story began well. The writing was beautiful and fluid. However, after a few chapters in, I've found the motivations behind the characters' emotional expressions quite illogical. There was a very shallow exploration of romance here, though it seemed promising. I couldn't really connect beyond any depth other than a physically driven attraction. Many descriptions of settings were too extremely verbose and excessive and detracted from the experience of the flow. The book I bought was very obviously self published. It needed editing. There were many parts which could've been streamlined to exclude unnecessary descriptions. Also the reactions to certain intense situations from the characters were just unbelievable. After a while, it was difficult for me to connect with the main protagonist, Gen. Having said that, I still gave this a 3 star as the vibe was overall a highly positive one. This book should be turned into a film. It just didn't have the right "prose" flavour, for the amount of excessive environmental details. It almost begs to be visually played out.
Loved it. My second of Mark's books. I am reading them all on kindle.

Recommend by a friend on FB, downloaded to my Reader app on my iPad, and read in just a couple of days! A big fan of the Sci/Fi/Fantasy/love story genera and this did not disappoint. I did not want to put the book down and enjoyed the experience of reading it on the e-reader. So many things I've read about on ScienceDaily.com over thae last 6 years, helped to pull me in and made the story (with just a bit of imagination) seem right at the cutting edge of possible. With the amazing things possible these days with computer animation it seems like this story is just waiting to be told on tha big 3d screen!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this novel. It may be because when I finished I raced off to get another one of Cantor's books or to get on his Facebook page. I honestly do not recall nor do I remember enough details of this novel to properly review it - I read all of his books awhile ago and have been awaiting the next one. I can tell you that everything he writes is five star to me!
